Medical Use and Dosage – mode of administration


ALLIUM SATIVUM is used to treat many conditions such as abdominal pain, infantile colic, diarrhea, diabetes, eye infections, snakebites, dandruff, and tuberculosis. It is also commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, recurrent upper respiratory tract infections and influenza. In all aforementioned health problems can be used dry extract or 1 to 2 gastro-resistant capsules, soft 4 times daily.

Mainly, Allium is used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, as it has lowering effects on cholesterol and plasma lipids, lipid metabolism and atherogenesis. It deals with the blood pressure and the danger of heart disease. It is also an ideal medicine that treats health problems of the bones, because it contains zinc, manganese, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. In case of dealing with the aforementioned health problems can be consumed one allium bulb three times per day, or in case of bad smell we take allium tincture or 2 tablets per day.
Acne cure: rub with a clove of peeled and raw garlic in your face and especially in places where there is acne.

Helps in hair loss: Rub cut cloves in your skull, or infuse olive oil with garlic and use the mixture to massage the scalp.

Helps in cold: Garlic is full of antioxidants which make good to the immune system, stir minced or crushed garlic in boiling water for several minutes, strain the mixture and drink.

Fight the scabies and warts: garlic, with proven anti-inflammatory properties can be particularly useful. Brush garlic oil on the affected area, for soft and free from skin rashes.

Helps control your weight: take a few cloves of garlic and break them. Leave at room temperature for 15 minutes and then use them in your recipes.
Remove stubborn splinters: if you place a piece of garlic over the stubborn splinter and cover it with a bandage or adhesive tape, when you remove it, a few hours later, we pull together. The anti-inflammatory compounds of garlic prevent further contamination of the area.
Treatment for fungal toenails: soak your feet for 30 minutes in a basin with crushed cloves of garlic that acts against fungal infections.
Herpes: turn the garlic cut a garlic clove in half and place it directly on the herpes virus, for 10 minutes. Repeat several times throughout the day.

Combinations & Contraindications


In case of contraindication Hypersensitivity to the active substance and to patients under saquinavir / ritonavir therapy.
Allium can be combined with Echinacea in dealing with parasitic infections.
It is contraindicated to be used during pregnancy without medical surveillance.



Recognized Ethnobotanical use


Allium used to lower blood pressure, to treat parasitic infections, food poisoning and tumours and as a mild anticoagulant.
