Medical Use and Dosage – mode of administration
CROCUS SATIVUS is an analgesic, antioxidant and antiseptic remedy. It can be used to treat health problems such as stomatitis and dysmenorrhea. It is also very good in emmenagogue.
It can be used to drastically reduce lung cancer, cancer of abdomen and skin cancer.
CROCUS SATIVUS is also used for asthma, cough, whooping cough (pertussis), and to loosen phlegm (as an expectorant). It is also used for sleep problems (insomnia), cancer, “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), intestinal gas (flatulence), depression, Alzheimer’s disease, fright, shock, spitting up blood (hemoptysis), pain, heartburn, and dry skin.
In aforementioned health problems, it can be used in tincture, and the suggested dosage is 20 – 30 drops, ½ h before food, or in herbal tea, 2 times daily.
Tincture is also very good in diabetes case.
Combinations & Contraindications
It is emmenagogue medicine, and it might cause hormonal disorders.
It is contraindicated to be used during pregnancy without medical surveillance.
